The name is Cornish. I grew up in North Wales and served in the British Army in the Welsh Guards ('90-94). That was after a language degree in Mandarin Chinese at SOAS, University of London. I am based in London and Norfolk.
18 years of my working life were spent in China where I built a media business and wrote articles for a variety of international publications, including Prospect (UK) Magazine. I was their China columnist for many years. I have written two books about China: ‘China Cuckoo, How I lost a Fortune and Found a Life in China’ and ‘That’s China, A British Entrepreneur versus the China Propaganda Machine’. My first novel, 'China Running Dog', was published in March 2025.
While I was living in China I did some acting, in Beijing in English and for the Shanghai People’s Arts Theatre in Chinese.
In 2013 I came home to the UK to become a professional actor. I have a one-man show I tour called 'Chinese Boxing'.
'Important Personal Speeches' combines my acting, writing and public speaking skills and experience.
